The initiative is a recognition that many parishes in Ireland have developed a maintenance approach to ministry, and that the Catholic church in Ireland is facing a crisis of identity. Our hope is that diocese and parishes across Ireland would rediscover their true identity of being a missionary Church. The Church is a mission. Our goal is to assist the Church in that rediscovery and provide the training and resources it needs.
In recent years, the Transformed Parish initiative has hosted two national conferences with Keynote speakers Fr James Mallon in 2017, and Bishop Philip Egan and Paul Donders in 2018. The Initiative encourages the use of the Divine Renovation process developed and promoted by the Divine Renovation Network which is originated in Nova Scotia, Canada.
